Burnt Toast

I go by Burnt Toast and I've been involved in Rust for way longer than I dare to admit to.

My gaming background all started as a kid playing things like 'Dizzy' and 'Monkey Island' on my ZX Spectrum many years ago. Since then, I've always had a big interest in different types of games from Streets of Rage, Street Fighter, Gran Turismo, FIFA, Valorant and lots more. I took on the role of Team Manager for the Welsh national Valorant team in 2021 alongside forming the two most competitive teams for Esports Wales. It was an experience that I am massively proud of right up until my departure from the role in 2023 (work commitments).

Nexus Gaming now gives me the chance to combine my favourite game of Rust and my day job (Graphic Design). My role is to look after all the social media along with videos creation and graphics. It's an amazing team to be part of and every day is different, which I love. The staff team are easily one of the best I've ever worked with and the community as a whole is different class.

WHAT I DO AT NEXUS:

I initially joined Nexus as a play tester for the PVE server but soon realised that I wanted to help in other ways too and was given the opportunity to join the admin team. Working closely alongside the likes of Hawx and OhSweetMurder , it taught me a lot about role of Rust admin having only done something similar for GTARP servers briefly in the past. From there, it was a natural progression into the social media side of things and now I work closely on a daily basis with Hawx to produce the best social media content we can in order to attract even more players to the servers along with providing helpful tips etc to the Rust community.

DIRECTOR OF SOCIAL MEDIA ROLE BREAKDOWN:

• Creating content: for the Nexus Gaming social accounts.

• Researching: newest trends to keep Nexus at the forefront of social designs.

• Video generation: such as in-game clips, cinematics and more, to use on both social media and also Discord.

• Looking after the PVE server: including helping choose new plugins to keep the server fresh and enjoyable for our players.

● Admin: Assisting the senior admins with any issue that may crop up as and when.
